We are one hour away from boarding our flight to New Zealand! Even though it's 24 hours later than we'd have wanted, we are pumped. Ready to go. Bring it on, 13 hour flight, screaming babies, lack of sleep and possibly horrible airplane meals! We are ready to see Auckland.
Today, we got to the airport at 1:30 for a 7:30 flight- just to make sure we got everything worked out wth seating, ticketing, and anything else. We've spent the past 5 hours going through security, eating and sitting at the bar. We made friends with a man who has a PhD in Organic Chemistry and works for the Pasteur Institute, watching soccer. We're currently at Gate 28 waiting to board.
We did enjoy the beautiful LA sun a little earlier, as we hung out on the outside deck at the hotel and tried not to get sunburned. I loved the sunshine and warmth today. I can't wait for more of it next week!
If all goes well, in 14 short hours we'll be in Auckland!
